What to Expect:
This is a social ride for anyone above beginner level; Laggan Wolftrax is one of the top purpose built trail centres in the country with some fantastic blue, red and black trails- as well as some pretty impressive rock slabs! They’ve done heaps of work recently to upgrade existing trails and added some new trails too!
It is important to remember that we will be riding a mix of trails all over the hill so absolute beginners will may struggle with more technical trails- all riders must be comfortable in tackling red trails and some features. We can ride black trails too, but this will be down to the group as a whole- we can decide on the day what we want to shred!
We’ll meet in the spot below, get acquainted and head out for the day.
First, we’ll enjoy a little warm up on a climb or lapping a short section of trail; then, when warm and ready, we will head further afield, and we can take it from there. Please remember that some of the trails at the this centre are on the more technical side and some fitness is required to make the climb multiple times.
We will have a ‘lunch break’ of sorts in the middle of the day where we can grab some food from our cars, or get a bite to eat and a coffee from the awesome cafe.
It’s a super loose structure; we won’t be rushing to get done, we won’t be pushing to tick off features- the aim is to have fun and ride bikes!
No pressure, just good times!
Where to Meet Us:
We will be ready and waiting outside the cafe and bike shop in the carpark at 10:00 ready to ride (we’re not going to hang around too long, so try to be on time so you don’t miss the ride).
Heather will be there wearing a top with the SheRides logo on, so be sure to make yourself known.

What Should you Bring?:
It’s super important to note that we will not ride with anyone who is not wearing a helmet!
Other than that, the protective gear that you bring is up to you- we normally ride with knee pads and maybe gloves, depending on the conditions. You’ll also need a bike that is trail suitable and safe, and some water to keep you going.
As this ride is taking place in October we would strongly recommend a rain jacket and riding pants so you have a better chance of staying warm and dry!
You can choose to hire a bike from the bike shop onsite, but we can’t help you with this; it’s something you’d have to organise in advance yourself.
What Will it Cost?
The ride itself is totally free, we won’t be charging you anything for our company.
The Laggan carpark charges are as follows:
£2 for up to 1 hour
£3 for up to 3 hours
£4 for all day (vehicles up to 7 seats)
£12 for minibus or coach all day
Blue Badge holders park for free. Please display your badge clearly.
All of the proceeds from parking go straight back into maintaining, creating and promoting the trails and forest.
It’s totally up to you how long you stay for but aiming for the full day means we don’t have time restraints and the money goes to maintaining the trails- it’s a win, win.
Other than that, feel free to bring your own pack lunch and snacks, as well as plenty of water for the day.
Extra Info:
The facilities onsite include toilets, showers, overnight stays and even an ancient monument!
