CANNOCK CHASE SOCIAL RIDE
What to Expect:
This is a social ride for anyone above beginner level and it’s worth noting that we will not necessarily stick to the easiest trails on the hill- riders must be comfortable in tackling difficult trails as we will explore whatever the group wants to ride; we will meet in the spot below, get acquainted and head out for a bit of a warm up.
When warm and ready, we will head up and check out some of the trails, then we can take it from there.
We will have a ‘lunch break’ of sorts in the middle of the day where we can grab some food from the cafe, eat a packed lunch or do whatever else you please. After lunch we can decide if we want to keep shredding or call it a day, you can always finish up whenever you need to.
It’s a super loose structure; we won’t be rushing to get done, we won’t be pushing to tick off features, and we won’t be forcing anyone to ride anything they aren’t comfortable with- the aim is to have fun and ride bikes!
No pressure, just good times!
Where to Meet Us:
We will be ready and waiting just outside the Swinnerton Cycles Forest Centre bike shop at 10 am (we’re not going to hang around too long, so try to be on time so you don’t miss the ride).
Heather will be there wearing a black long-sleeve top with the SheRides logo on, so be sure to make yourself known.

What Should you Bring?:
It’s super important to note that we will not ride with anyone who is not wearing a helmet!
Other than that, the protective gear that you bring is up to you- we normally ride with knee / elbow pads and maybe gloves, depending on the conditions. You’ll also need a bike that is trail suitable and safe, and some water to keep you going.
It is possible to hire a bike from the Swinnerton Cycles Forest Centre bike shop, but we strongly recommend that you do it well in advance if that’s your plan.
What Will it Cost?
The ride itself is totally free, we won’t be charging you anything for our company.
The Cannock Chase carpark is a paid carpark, and the prices are as follows:
Up to 1 hour- £3.50
Up to 2 hours- £7.00
Up to 3 hours- £9.50
All day- £11.00
We will be there all day, but it’s totally up to you how long you stay for; getting the full day means we don’t have time restraints and the money goes to maintaining the trails- it’s a win, win.
Other than that, having some money spare for a bit of lunch and a coffee is great idea, although you don’t have to buy anything if you don’t want to- feel free to bring your own pack lunch and snacks, as well as plenty of water.
